Leading with Love
I just recently worked my first convention & I had the unique opportunity to connect deeply with so many strangers; we dove into discussions about their lives and any challenges they’re facing, and my intention was to help offer insight and guidance as I could. I left that sacred space buzzing - knowing that to feel this type of energetic alignment, this is what I’m meant to do right now: to provide and hold sacred space, to listen, to support, to help uplift and encourage, and to help raise our collective frequency.
When we’re radiating with love and alignment, it truly feels like you’re buzzing. That energy surrounds you and everything in the vicinity. People feel drawn to you, they feel comfortable approaching you, they automatically feel seen and respond to you. The vibration of higher frequency emotions such as love, compassion, peace, joy etc. extends far beyond your physical body. Adversely, when we feel lower frequency emotions such as anger, sadness, guilt, etc. these vibrations remain much closer to your physical body as if you’re holding onto everything all by yourself (and in a way, we are).
Consider the last time you did something altruistic: you probably felt damn good too, right? Even if nothing was reciprocated to you - just the act, or the presence of kindness was there - and you received the benefit of that too. When we show kindness to others, it lifts us up into an elevated state by default. It’s an energetic match, or karmic as some people say, exemplifying that what you release into the universe is reflected back to you. You’ll notice that the same holds true in a business sense; when you wish and encourage other’s success - you will find that same success for yourself. It’s a matter of building each other and ourselves up, rather than tearing anyone down. There will always be enough abundance to share and go around, even if our society may paint a picture that there is a limited supply.
All of this to encourage you to let your own individual light shine & to share that beautiful light with everyone that has the opportunity to meet you!
Call to action to practice this in your life:
Engage in attentive conversations
Hold space for the person speaking: ask questions - make eye contact - smile - listen to what they have to say, rather than cutting them off or interjecting your own story - have empathy and a genuine desire to want to support that person - make them feel seen and heard.
Take the time to consider how our words and our actions affect those around us & be willing to make changes to be more supportive and compassionate. Learn to respond rather than to react. Patience and self awareness is pivotal here.
One selfless action daily
Hold open the door for someone
Provide a genuine, meaningful compliment
Remember what someone told you and ask a specific question about that to show the person you remembered what they had to say
Surprise someone with something you made
Bring someone a cup of coffee, tea, snack, food, etc.
This list is truly endless
Volunteer work
Find something relatable to what you enjoy! It could involve animals, kids, food, nature, school, clothes, health, etc. There are so many organizations to donate just a few hours of our time to to give back to our communities.
Donate
This could be physical items that no longer serve you (clothes/furniture/food) or this could be more personal (blood, plasma, hair).
Whatever you decide, choose to reinvent yourself every single day! Remember that this is a PRACTICE - none of us are perfect but together we can choose to be better - one day and one action at a time.
“Spread love everywhere you go. Let no one ever come to you without leaving happier.” - Mother Teresa
